Honda at 2015 New York Auto Show
New York Auto Show is considered as one of the most important car shows in this part of the world. It is held every year in Manhattan, somewhere in late March/early April period. This year it took place between April 3rd and 12th. Since it is one of the major shows in U.S. all manufacturers presented their models, concept cars, new technologies etc. As one of the key companies in North America, Honda definitely wasn’t an exception. This manufacturer came with many novelties. Honda showed several production and concept cars in Manhattan.
Honda major production models at 2015 New York Auto Show
Honda presented several production models in New York. There are various types of vehicles. Some of them are like new Acura NSX was presented to show all of new technologies that company achieved. Company also presented new generation of fuel cell vehicles. However, the most important role played SUV models like new Honda Pilot, Honda HR-V or Honda Ridgeline truck. New, 2016 Honda Pilot, that will come this summer, comes longer but also about 300 pounds lighter, compared to its predecessor. It comes with new styling which includes things like new LED headlights, panoramic roof, second row-heated seats, navigation etc. It comes with 3.6 liter V6 engine, which is paired with new 9-speed automatic transmission. There is also a more car-based HR-V, a five-seat SUV, which is about 10 inches shorter than CR-V. It comes with new 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine, which outputs 138 hp. It will be produced in Mexico, alongside with Honda Fit.
Honda Civic Concept at 2015 New York Auto Show
For Honda, probably the most important premier was presentation of a concept car of Honda Civic. This car is the best-selling compact car in North America and definitely one of the most-important models for the company. This concept is expected to enter serial production very soon, probably by the end of year, and it will come as 2016 Honda Civic. New, tenth generation of Civic will come with completely new, more aggressive and attractive styling. Beside current body styles like sedan or coupe, it will also come as 5-door hatchback.
It will feature plenty of new drive assist and other hi-tech technologies. When it is about engines, it is confirmed that it will be powered by new 1.5 liter VTEC Turbo engine, paired with CVT, which will have both excellent performances and fuel economy.
