Acura TLX GT
GT version of Acura TLX is a race car whose performance is boosted a lot comparing to the base Acura TLX models. The vehicle was announced earlier this year, but looks like that should be presented at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. On that circuit, Acura TLX GT will debut in GT category, and it is big step for this company. With it, registration for race class is completed, where they join some of the top class cars, such as Porsche 911, Dodge Viper, Bentley Continental, Cadillac CTS-V, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo and McLaren 12C. These are main competitors of Acura’s performance boosted TLX model GT.
Honda Performance Development
Acura TLX GT was born under Honda Performance Development (HPD) and RealTime Racing. It is a project of making race car for Honda, made during 1993 when American Honda stepped into Indy car racing. It promises big results under Honda’s development, since it is most successful company on these races. Also, prototypes made from HPD were successful during recent years, resulting more than 70 victories. First Honda Performance Development vehicle debuted in 2007 and it was LM-V8, first engine developed outside of Japan for Honda. What will get Acura TLX for GT model from HPD and RealTime Racing? Chassis and aerodynamic performance parts will be matched for competition they apply for. Also, new engine and drive system are planned.
Acura TLX GT changes
Under aerodynamic works on Acura TLX GT, vehicle will be quite different from its matrix. It gets front lip spoiler and side skirts. Also, new bumpers are about to be installed on both ends of the vehicle. Additionally, Acura TLX GT gets huge rear wing to keep vehicle glued to the tracks. Performance is also improved with new engine. TLX GT is packed with direct-injected V-6 engine with two turbochargers. These will help Acura to get its power to race requirements level. HPD added Super-Handling All Wheel Drive for better handling. Acura TLX GT is the only vehicle using AWD system, but people in company believe they will make good competition to other, already established names in sport class.
