2016 Pilot unveiled
Even though it is not the largest car show, Chicago help the premiere of new Pilot, one of the most attractive crossover in recent years. Honda decided not to show it in Detroit, but they rather went to Chicago, where 2016 Pilot unveiled and was a star of the show. All visitors were surprised with new, attractive look. Honda made a lot of improvements, so 2016 Pilot, with a year of delay, is going to fulfill the expectations from all fans.
2016 Pilot unveiled – design
Third generation of the all-new 2016 Pilot will come with refreshed, but familiar look. First impressions are that Pilot has some same details as CR-V crossover, but it is far away from the copy. Elements are taken, without question, such as pointed rear window and contoured front fascia, but old, boxy look and many other styling details are dropped. This is attractive, more angular model.
Its combination of functional and stylish parts is excellent, and this crossover is ready to make huge impact on the market when it appears. Some of the 2016 Pilot highlights are LED lights, especially projector headlights, 20-inch wheels and panoramic roof. Safety systems are improved and it includes features like multi-angle rear view camera, lane keeping assist, lane departure and forward collision warning, with added adaptive cruise control.
2016 Pilot unveiled – engine
As it was predicted from experts, new 2016 Pilot has 3.5-liter, direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine. There is also variable cylinder management (VCM) cylinder deactivation technology. For better fuel economy, idle stop function shuts the engine while stopped. When driver lifts the foot from the brake pedal, vehicle restarts. Transmission system is 6-speed auto, and some higher trims will get 9-speed auto. Both transmissions are going to improve fuel economy rate. Front- and all-wheel drive configurations are available for purchase.
2016 Pilot unveiled – price
Market appearance of the 2016 Pilot in US will be during summer. By then, we could hear more about its specifications and trims. Price is still unknown. Since this is all-new model from third generation, we can’t be sure what could be starting price for new Pilot. Some rumors say it could cost from around $30.000.
