2015 Honda Stepwgn

The Stepwgn is a mid-size MVP produced by Honda. It was originally launched in 1996 and so far we have seen four generations of it. Current model came in 2009 and it is going to be replaced soon. According to the latest reports, production of next-generation model will start in April, so it will hit the market very soon. New model will come with plenty of improvements. Beside new look and completely redesigned interior, 2015 Honda Stepwgn will also come with new engine.

The basics of the 2015 Honda Stepwgn will remain unchanged. It will be a mid-size MVP with a minivan body style. Compared to models like Odyssey or Stream, it will feature a higher cabin and will be able to accommodate eight instead of seven passengers. It will also feature already familiar one door on the driver’s side but two doors on the pavement / sidewalk side configuration. Novelty for the 2015 Honda Stepwagon will be new “Waku Waku” gate. It is a rear door, which can be opened it two ways, by lifting up the entire hatch to access the low and wide cargo space, or by opening a half “door” to hop into the third-row seats.

The base engine for 2015 Honda Stepwgn will remain unchanged. It is a 2.0 liter inline-four engine, which can be paired with either 5-speed manual or CVT. This engine has an output of around 150 horsepower. Honda will add one more engine for this MVP. It will be a 1.5 liter VTEC Turbocharged engine, which is used in new Civic and some other models too. This engine outputs around 180 horses but also has better fuel economy than base engine. When it is about transmission, this engine will probably be paired with CVT. Just like previous generations, 2015 Stepwgn will come with FF layout, with standard FWD and optional AWD configuration.

As we already said, the production of 2015 Honda Stepwgn will start in April and it will be available in Japan already in the same month. When it is about competition, rival are already well-known. Those are models like Nissan Serena, Toyota’s Noah, Voxy, Esquire  etc.
