2015 Honda CRF450R

Honda is preparing new lineup for their motorcycle segment. The 2015 Honda CRF450R will be new motocross bike, updated from last year’s model. Some of the changes come for rotors, tires and new electronics. Of course, engine will suffer some modifications. As probably most significant update will come at suspension system, because there will be two types of these – Showa and KYB for new bikes from Japanese manufacturer. The 2015 CRF250R will come with Showa suspension and 2015 Honda CRF450R will get KYB.

Newest BYB’s PSF fork will be part of the 2015 Honda CRF450R new suspension system. This means that high and low speed compression will be adjustable with new forks. New shock adjuster will be placed on the back of the new Honda CRF450R. This will be the same that KYB produces for race teams. Rebound adjuster is moved. It is now on the housing of adjuster instead on the bottom of the shaft. Front suspension will be 48mm inverted KYB PSF (Pneumatic Spring Fork). It will feature rebound and compression-damping adjustability. On the rear suspension will be used Pro-Link KYB single shock. Rebound damping and compression damping adjustment will be separated into low-speed and high-speed.

Some of the innovations for the 2015 Honda CRF450R should launch this motocross bike into highest level of the segment. With tough competition, it needs constant upgrades. The Engine Mode Select button allows rider to select proper EFI/ignition maps. There are three of these offered for new Honda CRF450R. Other features come with rebound damping adjustment, larger front brake and new cylinder head. Then exhaust system will be updated and settings of the Dual-Timing PGM-FI fuel injection will be bettered to improve performance of the 2015 CRF450R.

2015 Honda CRF450R Specifications

Power option of the 2015 CRF450R will be 449cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine. It will be featured with Valve train, unicam, 36mm titanium intake and 31mm steel exhaust pipe. Ignition will be full transistor with electronic advance. Close-ratio five-speed gearbox will send power to wheels. Single 260mm wave-style discs brakes will be placed on front wheel, while rear wheel will get smaller 240mm discs.
