2015 Acura NSX
Honda plans to reincarnate it iconic supercar named NSX. This model was first introduced in 1990 and it was equipped with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, powered by an all-aluminum V6 petrol engine featuring Honda’s Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. Named as Acura NSX for US market and as Honda NSX for European market, it was produced for almost 15 years, until production ended in 2005.
Acura NSX Concept Car
After several years, company management finally realized that they need to launch new high-performance car. In 2013 the new concept was finally presented on Detroit Auto Show. The first impressions were fantastic. The design of this new concept is so good that all of competitors such as Ferrari or McLaren were pretty much scared of new potential competitor. Everyone was sure that Honda did great job.
All new 2015 Acura NSX
Based on this concept car, the 2015 Acura NSX will be all-new model. Just like the original, new 2015 NSX will be a mid-engine two-seat sports car and will have similar dimensions but with whole new very futuristic design. The 2015 Acura NSX will also use V6, but this time it will be a hybrid car. This V6 petrol engine will be paired with electric motor will deliver power to rear wheels, while front wheels will be powered with two additional electromotors. Although it is not official, there is information that this whole system will deliver probably over 550 horses, which promises great performances. Transmission will be dual-clutch, with more than 6 speeds, as it’s told from the company.
2015 Acura NSX competition
Well, 550 horses promises a lot, so we are sure that this all new car will be a great alternative for much expensive cars such as McLaren or Ferrari. However, there is a big question mark – will this hybrid, full of high-tech electronic elements work good enough to satisfy needs of potential customers. More precisely, will 2015 Acura NSX offer something more than fuel economy compared to competitors such as petrol-powered Corvette, Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R. Will it be attractive like these cars.
2015 Acura NSX price and release date
The 2015 NSX will be available this summer. The price is still unknown, but we expect to starts around 100.000 dollars.
