2015 Acura MDX
When this model was launched in 2000, it was the first SUV that has third row of seats. Even now, after many years, Acura is continuing to be one of the leaders, when we talk about implementation of new solutions. Because of that, this model, which was planned primary for U.S. market, now is very popular also in Australia and Japan and it is Acura’s best-selling model in past years. However, if we consider that the current generation of this luxury SUV was released recently, it is hard to believe that 2015 MDX will undergo some big changes compared to 2014 year model, although there are promises from company that there will be several improvements.
2015 Acura MDX changes
It is well-known that Honda doesn’t improve vehicles in their second year and if we take in case that current generation of this model was released just recently, we can conclude that there is no too much room for improvements. This luxury SUV already has the whole arsenal of Honda’s technical achievements so we can expect only some visual changes such as new colors and improved details. For example, interior may get real-wood interior or power windows, but even that is just our conjecture which isn’t very possible.
2015 Acura MDX engine
Just as 2014 year model, 2015 Acura MDX will be also equipped with 3.5 liter V6 direct injection engine which produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of max torque. Transmission is 6-speed automatic and it can deliver power to front or all four wheels. One of the MDX’s main trumps is fuel economy.
Thanks to the lightweight materials and Variable Cylinder Management, this SUV is one of the best in its segment. The results are 20 mpg/city, 28 mpg/highway and 23 mpg/combined fuel economy for FWD version and 18 mpg/city, 27 mpg/highway and 21 mpg/combined for AWD version.
2015 Acura MDX price and release date
Because new generation of MDX was released last year, it is not expected to be some big difference in price. This luxury SUV will go between 42,000 and 56,000 dollars. It is expected 2015 Acura MDX to be launched late this year or maybe in early 2015.
